The birthyear is deduced from the record of his death in the Catholic Churchbook of Undenheim – from the entry of his death on 25 July 1736, and giving his age as 64 years.
- Joh. Phillip was another of the Schömbs Hofmanner (head farmers) of St. Albans in Undenheim. He died in 1736 from the fall of a horse. Philipp was married on 07.01.1710 in the Catholic Church in Undenheim to Catharina Elisabeth Suther, Sulzheim. Perhaps the name could be Sutter. Witness was Peter Bauer.

- Anna Elisabetha Resch of Gabsheim was the godmother. Elisabeth Schömbs was married on 21.12.1809 in Undenheim to Valentin Benz (*17.04.1787 Undenheim, +05.09.1865 Jo Daviess Cty IL USA), carpenter. The parents of Valentin Benz I. came from Selzen.
The Valentin Benz family lived at various times at Kirchgäßchen 3, Kirchstraße 75, and later at Großen Straße Nr. 139 ½.
In 1843 Valentin Benz I. with his family (wife and the six living children: Valentin 33, Magdalena 30, Maria 27, Margarethe 24, Catharina 20 and Jacob 17) emigrated to Amerika.
- The home pictured above at Kirchgäßchen Nr. 3 was the home of Johann Peter Schömbs (*1716) from 1751 until probably his death in 1790. And his wife Maria Katharina who died in 1799. Their son Konrad (*1757) and his wife Anna Maria moved into Nr. 3 in 1784 and were there until at least 1817. 1817 is probably the death of Konrad. From 1809 until 1819 Konrad's daughter Elisabeth (*1789) and her husband Valentin Benz lived in the home. In 1819 Anna Maria, Elisabeth's mother, passed away. Elisabeth and Valentin moved out of the home in 1819. In that year the home was acquired by Karl Sauer, not related to the Schömbs family. We know the ownership information from the book by Dieter Curschmann Undenheim, Geschichte eines rheinhessischen Dorfes. Or in English Undenheim, history of a Rheinhessen village. - Joh. Valentin Schömbs became a minister and was until his death a priest in Friesenheim (about 5 km, or 3 miles, southeast of Undenheim). The Catholics of Hahnheim (3 km north of Undenheim), in 1770 had a dispute with their priest and selected Joh. Valentin to be the replacement. From the publication of Dr. Curshmann (History of the Church and School in Undenheim) it emerges that Joh. Valentin died on the second Pentacostal Day of 1770, soon after the decision in Hahnheim and before he made the change from Friesenheim to Hahnheim.

- Andreas Schömbs was a baker by trade. He moved from Undenheim to Herrnsheim, perhaps as a result of a woman. For in 1754 Apollonia (+07.06.1756 Herrnsheim) and Andreas were parents of Johann Georg "Schembs" (*02.01.1754 Herrnsheim). A year later in 1755 Johann (*1754) died and his mother Apollonia a year after that in 1756. Andreas married for the second time on 23.11.1756 in Herrnsheim to Christina Holtzemer.
In Herrnsheim the family name came to be written "Schembs," which spelling has remained until the present day.
