Jacob Schömbs probably married a second time to a Maria Margaretha. In 1828 when he was 52 years old they had a daughter Barbara.

A record in the Registry Office indicates that Jacob Schömbs emigrated to Amerika. Many years after finding the record of Jacob having emigrated we discovered where he settled and the brief story of Jacob and his family.

Six years after arriving in Amerika, Jacob married Anna E. Cacual (*1851, +1911 Morristown NJ). They lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey across the Hudson River from Manhattan (New York City).

Egon Schömbs was the oldest of the three children. He became an artist. After his schooling, he performed in the well known show "Paulsen" in Berlin at the Nollendorf Theater. He was active for many years on the Karlsruhe theaters as a singer and director.

Karl Schömbs was a plowman by profession in Dielkirchen. He also worked in the stone quarries and was a mason. He returned from the First World War an invalid. Karl Schömbs was married 9.01.1906 to Anna Maria Neber (*21.01.1886 Stahlberg, +05.04.1961 Stahlberg) in Kaiserslautern. Anna Maria was a protestant, while Karl was Catholic. This was a problem in the times. Therefore their marriage took place outside of Kaiserslautern.

Karl Schömbs lived in Berlin and there married Charlotte Noak (*15.09.1908, +1966). Charlotte had three children from a previous marriage, Fritz, Inge and Edith, who later took on the Schömbs name. Karl learned the trade of the cartright, and later a carpenter working for the national railway in Berlin.

Jakob Schömbs married Auguste Schmalz (*30.01.1915, +02.03.1993). Jakob Schömbs learned the trade of tailor from his uncle Jakob Schömbs in Karlsruhe. He later moved to Köln where he lives with his two daughers. Jakob lives in Köln-Portz.

Alfred Schömbs married Johanna Mattern (*1917, +02.12.2017). The family lived in Gangloff. Alfred Schömbs worked after the War in construction, later becoming a skilled mason in Bergbau.

Franz Schömbs was by profession a tailor. He was married on 23.09.1905 in Karlsruhe to Katharina Ruckser (*24.10.1883 Mörsch bei Ettlingen).

Franz Schömbs first worked with his brother Heinrich Schömbs in Ludwigshafen. They were tailors. Later he moved to Karlsruhe where he worked by himself.

Erwin Schömbs apprenticed at Firma Metz in Karlsruhe, which produced firearms, the trade of locksmithing. Later he studied and became an engineer. He worked his entire career with Firma Metz, and became their chief designer.
We are told that he was a very serious person. In his free time he liked to paint and produced many beautiful oil paintings.
