Tracing your ancestry!

If you are descended from an emigrant, you can find yourself in Jim Schembs' book Die Auswanderer Schömbs by using the FIND ME Link in the navigation bar at the top of the Homepage ("Worldsite Home"). You can trace your ancestry backwards (scroll up) to your emigrant and then click on the Link at the top of the Emigrants page ("Click to trace the ancestors of ....") to the parents of your emigrant. This then links you into Reinhold Schembs' book Die Familie von Zacharias Schömbs at the location of your emigrant ancestor. However, sometimes this puts you generally near but not right on the correct person. And you won't know where to look. If this happens, click the Back button on your browser, then click again on "Click to trace.....". This should put you in the correct place.

Once in Reinhold's book continue scrolling up to the top of the page. Again, at the top of the page click on the link "Return to the Parents of ......". In this way you can trace your ancestry all the way back to Zacharias Schömbs. It can be a little tedious but it should work.

You can also trace your ancestry by clicking on "Family Tree" in the navigation bar at the top of every page. Unfortunately it too is a little challenging to use but if you are patient and follow the instructions it should work. Sometime I hope to find a better third-party application for the family tree.

If you are (noch) ein Deutscher, again use the Find Me (oder Mich Finden) Link in the navigation bar at the top of the Homepage to locate yourself in Reinhold's book. Then follow the same process. Oder use the Stammbaum Link in the navigation bar at the top.
