Notes Relating to the Burial Information for the Family

Note 1 --     The Paul Schneider buried at Cedar Grove was 85 years old, per the NY Death Records, therefore born about 1852. This was helpful in finding the birth record in Germany for Paul.

Note 2 --     Barbara Schömbs Schneider (+1896) does not appear in the NY Death Records. She shares Grave 3 with her second son William.

Note 3 --     Mary Schneider (+1901) died at age 2 months per the NY Death Records. From this we deduce she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Schneider. We know she was a family member as she was buried with her parents in cat-304. She shares Grave 4 with two of her half-brothers, Gus and Edward.

Note 4 --     Edward, per the NY Death Records, died in Queens.

Note 5 --     This person has not been found in the NY Death Records.

Note 6 --     Age is per the NY Death Records.

Note 7 --     Per the NY Death Records it would appear that George was born in 1900. He was, however, enumerated as having been born in July, 1899 in the 1900 Census. George was the first child of Paul and Mary and is buried in Grave 2.

Note 8 --     Frank died in Manhattan at age 65 per the NY Death Records.

Note 9 --     Age per the NY Death Records.

Note 10 --     Paul died in Manhattan at the age of six weeks. John died in Manhattan at age 6 months. The family lived in Manhattan at the time and the boys were undoubtedly buried there. The Cedar Grove Cemetery did not open until 1893 in Queens. Paul and John were apparently not moved to Cedar Grove to be with the family.

Note 11 --     In the NY Death Records there is a Richard Schneider who died on 27.12.1936 at the age of 22. It is not known if this is the correct Richard.
